what we’re teaching

This month we are teaching a four-week series focusing on Easter. Click the button below to head over to our Family Ministries Page where you will find more details of what your student will be learning.

TIP OF THE MONTH

There are a lot of reasons your son or daughter -regardless if they're a toddler, school-age child, or a teenager - might be experiencing disappointment these days, and they need your help to build resilience. So here’s what you can do.

1. Let them feel it.

2. Offer perspective by asking, “I know it hurts, but what can we learn from this?”

3. Share your stories of disappointment to help them see they’re not alone.

4. Assure them they will be okay and that you’re with them.

remember that regardless of how big or small you feel the disappointment is, doesn't mean they don’t feel it’s monumental in their lives. it’s so easy for us as parents to react first and think of our children’s feelings second. try to spend some time this month truly listen to your daughter or son without reacting or solving or trying to mold a certain outcome. you might be surprised at the outcome.
